Creamy, cheesy spread with a bit of kick? Check! This zesty cheese spread is a must-have appetizer whether you're having a party of 1 or 100.
It's football and basketball season right now, which means we should be having a lot of game day get-togethers. Unfortunately, the world is still a crazy place and social distancing is in full effect.
But that doesn't mean you can't enjoy a hot, cheesy, delicious appetizer like this zesty cheese spread.
While I love any and all cheese appetizers, I'm a big fan of those that require only a handful of ingredients. Even better if those ingredients are things I can easily keep on hand at all times.
You never know when you might have a last-minute appetizer emergency or a late-night craving for something hot and cheesy.
Triple points if the appetizer dip or spread is combined with bread, am I right? I think that's why tomato bruschetta and sweet onion crack dip are so dang good.
Zesty cheese spread comes together in minutes—and it's gone in minutes! Plus, if it's cold-weather season, you can use the excuse that you need to warm up the house as an additional reason to make it.
I know, I know. Using the oven isn't an efficient way to heat your home, but I'm all about justifying a hot appetizer.
Ready for how easy it is to make this spicy (but not too spicy) spread?
How to Make Zesty Cheese Spread
Step 1:Mix together butter, garlic, and green chilies. Mix together mayonnaise and cheese in a separate bowl.
Step 2:Slice bread and place slices on cookie sheets. Spread butter mixture onto slices, then top with cheese mixture.
Step 3:Broil until cheese mixture is hot and bubbly. Serve immediately.
I told you it was easy. I bet we could even say ridiculously easy.
Can I make two suggestions to make life easier? Use a quality serrated bread knife for slicing your baguette or french bread. And then use a nice spreader knife, or my favorite, an icing knife, to apply the spreads.
It's the little things that make a world of difference!
I love a good, hot, cheesy dip, don't you? Some of my faves are this hot roasted red pepper dip, buffalo chicken dip (crack chicken dip), and easy chorizo cheese dip.
Of course, let's not forget slow cooker cheesy hot corn dip.

Sooo good! I loved that they had a kick, but weren't too spicy that my kids wouldn't eat them. And of course I love all the CHEESE!
